Department of Nuclear Medicine at Peking University First Hospital Receives EARL Theranostics Advanced-L2 Certification, Bringing Theranostics in Line with International Standards

During the certification review, EANM President-Elect Professor Felix M. Mottaghy and Ms. Iva Hristova visited the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Peking University First Hospital to conduct on-site verification and exchanges, gaining an in-depth understanding of the department's clinical diagnosis and treatment workflows, quality management system, and daily standardized operations, and held discussions on topics including quality control, technical specifications, and theranostics development. During the same period, Professor Arturo Chiti, Full Professor at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Italy and Director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, also visited the department and delivered a special academic lecture on the application of artificial intelligence, multimodal imaging, and cutting-edge technologies in the early detection and precise characterization of lung cancer, sharing international frontier advances.

The Department of Nuclear Medicine at Peking University First Hospital was established in 1958 and is one of the first nuclear medicine departments established in China. It is currently a key discipline in "Nuclear Technology Application" under the Ministry of Education and a nuclear medicine professional base of the National Drug Clinical Trial Institution, with deep accumulated expertise in fields including radionuclide imaging, organ function measurement, radionuclide therapy, and radiopharmaceutical translation. The acquisition of the EARL Theranostics Advanced-L2 certification will help the department further advance the development of theranostics systems in major disease areas such as oncology, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders, providing patients with precise, standardized, and internationally benchmarked nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment services.
